Aranmore was built in
1890 in Dundee, Scotland, as a coastal freighter. She was purchased by
the Canadian Government in 1914, and operated as a buoy tender and
lighthouse supply
vessel until she was sold to Foundation Maritime in 1939. Sold again in
1945, she sank in 1946 off the British West Indies.

name USS SATINLEAF (AN-43). After the war, she towed barges on the

Maritime in 1960, she was renamed North Star IV and served as a
sealer and research vessel. She sank during a hydrogaphic survey of
James Bay in 1961.
