Flight Deck Details

[THUMBNAIL] A general view of Vancouver's stern. The flight deck is the green area, with the hangar at left and a working deck for mooring lines at right.

[THUMBNAIL] Looking up the flight deck from the stern, directly along the centerline. The track in the flight deck is for the helicopter hauldown system, which is used to land and secure the helo and move it into the hangar in heavy seas.

[THUMBNAIL] The helicopter control station is located on the port side, two decks above the flight deck, adjacent to the hangar.

[THUMBNAIL] This second control station is located on the starboard side of the flight deck, forward.

[THUMBNAIL] A general view looking into the hangar from the flight deck. Although the hangar appears large, it will be very cramped when a single Sea King helicopter is aboard.
