An Indian name of an island in the Tennessee River
in Alabama.
Cochali (YTB-383) was built by Gulfport Boiler and Welding
Works, Port Arthur, Texas, and served in a noncommissioned status in
the 8th Naval District during World War II. After being in reserve
from May 1947 to June 1948, she was placed back in service in the 6th
Naval District. She served there through 1960.
