Enaj (No. 578), a yacht free leased to the Navy, was commissioned on 11 June 1917, Ensign L. F. Herreshoff, USNRF, in command, and sent to the 2d Naval District where she patrolled and executed special duty assignments with the Inspection Section, Newport, R.I. On 31 December 1918 she was returned to her owner.
