Waxbill
On 27 April, 1945, a contract for construction of AM-414, an Admirable-class minesweeper was awarded to the Defoe Shipbuilding Co. of Bay City Mich. The sweeper was named Waxbill on 16 May 1945. However, the end of World War II resulted in the cancellation of Waxbill's contract on 11 August 1945, before the ship's keel had been laid down.
