Albay

Albay is a municipality in southeastern Luzon, Philippine Islands.

Albay, a small gunboat, was built by Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Co., Shanghai, China, in 1886 for the Spanish and captured in the Philippines in 1898. Acquired by the Navy in 1899, she was commissioned 21 May 1899, Ensign M. J. McCormack in command.

In commission intermittently from 1899 until 1904. she operated in the Philippines on coastal patrol and survey duty and as a ferry at Cavite. She was decommissioned 13 February 1904 at Cavite and sold 5 June 1906.
